Motiv’s fitness ring becomes a biometric security device

January 7, 2019

Motiv, based in San Francisco, announced at the CES 2019 adding a new feature to its ring: heart rate sensing for security. This new solution goes with the desire to allow payments.

The company is already specialised in vitals sensing through photoplethysmograph (PPG). But its goal is to reach such a high precision that it will identify the owner of the smart ring accurately enough to replace fingerprints.
